Spray tanning aftercare
Before coming to your appointment
Prepping before your tan -
Exfoliate and Shave/Wax at-least 12 hours prior to appointment.
Have a quick shower to make sure your skin is free from all makeup, moisturisers and deodorants. Moisturisers will create a barrier on the skin, and your tan won't grab evenly. If you find that certain spots go darker than others (e.g. ankles, hands, knees and elbows) this could be because tan grabs to dry skin. It can be beneficial to apply a very thin layer of a light moisturiser directly on these problem areas to keep the tan even and smooth, be careful not to use too much.
Types of tans we have in the salon -
Loving Tan ultra Dark:
Leave on for 6+ hours
A deeper, dark shade while still looking natural
Organic, low odour & can be slept in
Advanced melanin technology (AMT) allows the tan to mirror your natural skin tones
(Recommended for birthdays & events for clients who like a dark tan!)
Loving Tan Dark:
Leave on for 6+ hours
Beautiful medium shade
Organic, low odour & can be slept in
Fades evenly (less need for scrubbing)
Advanced Melanin Technology(AMT) allows the tan to mirror your natural skin tones
(Recommended for weddings, especially for brides and bridesmaids who want to look natural and glowy, without looking like they have a deep tan!)
Spray Aus light to dark:
1 - 2 hours for a natural and healthy tan
3 - 4 hours for a medium to dark tan
Vegan friendly, Paraben free sulphate free
(Great for those with a more pale completion, this tan does not throw any base colours that can be noticeable on pale skin tones). Recommended for weddings, great for brides who want a natural tan with the option to leave on longer for a deeper tan while still looking very natural.)
Spray Aus Deep dark:
1 - 2 hours for a medium dark tan
2 - 4 hours for a dark tan
4 - 6 hours for a deep dark tan
Full results develop within 18-24 hours
Vegan friendly, paraben & sulphate free
(This is our deepest, darkest tan, especially if left on for 8-10 hours). If you would like a very dark tan, please let us know so we can double coat where needed.
Bella bronze express:
Leave on for 1-2 hours for a medium shade
Leave on for 4+ hours for deeper/dark tan
Organic & low odour
Violet base
(Best for those with an olive skin tone, wanting an express tan that they need to wash off sooner - especially during the really hot days so tan doesn't sweat off) This tan will continue to develop AFTER washed off, so best to do 2 days prior to event.
Naked tan:
Violet base ultra dark tan
6 hours for deepest tan
Full results develop within 24 hours

After your spray tan appointment -
Stay dry for 8-10 hours (2-4 for express)
Do not shower for at least 8 to 10 hours after the spray tanning solution has been applied. This waiting period allows maximum tanning solution absorption for the skin.
Avoid tight clothing while developing
Make sure to wear loose clothing while the tan is developing, we suggest not wearing bra, socks, strappy shoes or watch to avoid any tan lines developing.
Also avoid exercise/excessive sweating during this time.
Rinsing off the tan
Once desired development time is up, have a cool or warm (not hot), quick shower. Let the bronzer rinse off and avoid soaps - Body wash is best. Do not scrub tan.
Pat dry with towel each time after shower.
Moisturising
The very first time you rinse off your tan, do not moisturise.
Your tan will continue to develop darker for the next few hours and moisturiser will block the development. We suggest moisturising from day 2 onwards for even fading.
What products to use?
Do not use lotions or creams on your skin which contain Alpha Hydroxyl Acids (AHA’s) or Glycolic Acid as they tend to exfoliate the skin. Also avoid soap as this will strip the tan.
We suggest soap free body wash & Loving Tan gradual moisturiser for longer lasting tan results.
Removing the tan
For best results, use Loving Tan exfoliating glove or Spray Aus Tan Reverser (available in salon & online store). Exfoliate at the end of your shower with your mitt, or use Tan reverser wait 5+ mins and remove with face washer. The softer your skin, the easier it is to remove old tan.
